GUEST BOOK
We had such a wonderful time in Capri, our best
holiday experience ever. Sometimes the reality doesn’t match what you saw in the brochure. This time everything
was just perfect. In addition to your beautiful hotel, you have the most marvellous
staff. We will always fondly remember Capri not just for it’s beauty
but also the beauty of the people that we met at the Hotel Relais Maresca.

We
stayed at the Relais Maresca for two nights in September. It was lovely!
Our room had a sea view and small terrace, and was large. The room was
cheerfully decorated in yellow ceramic tile. Bathroom was huge, clean
and well taken care of by the staff.
Breakfast on the terrace was great. Hotel is in a good location close to all
transportation to, from and on Capri.
Will definitely stay there again!

My husband & I just returned from a trip to Italy in which we
stayed at the Relais Maresca in Capri. The hotel is located in the
Marina Grande where the ferry's to and from the island arrive. We were
given a sea view room which was very nice and large. However, Capri
in July is very busy and the sea view room gets a lot of the street
sound. Regardless, it is definitely worth it! The view is great and
the hotel is in a perfect spot. We walked from the ferry to our hotel,
and was able to book a boat tour of Capri for about 10 euro at the
hotel's front desk. The beach was a 2 minute walk down hill (a little
rocky but can rent beach chairs/umbrellas and swim in clean/clear water),
as was many cafes and lots of little souvenir shops. Breakfast is served
on the roof garden - also with an amazing view. We would definitely
recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the Relais Maresca for 4 nights at the beginning of May and
we had a fantasic time. It was our first visit to Capri and we think
we absolutely picked the right hotel. It is beautifully decorated,
clean and with a view to die for. Positioned right near the entrance
to the funicular railway and to the bus stops, it is really easy to
get around the island from here. The staff were helpful and made us
feel very welcome.
We would also like to recommend a fantastic restaurant about 15 mins walk
away - Da Paolino - it is in a lemon grove - each table has its own numbered
tree - with a gorgeous and huge buffet of antipasto and another of desserts.
We spent a delightful evening there.

I found the Maresca while searching the web for hotels in Capri. Their
web site looked lovely and more than lived up to the actual hotel. The
Maresca is a special gem! The staff was more than friendly and accomodating
(making you feel like you are an old friend) and the rooms were immaculate!
I had a room with a sea view and terrace which was just lovely. Breakfast
on the rooftop openair restaurant in the morning with a view of the
port and sea is beyond relaxing. And in the afternoon relaxing on a
chaise on the rooftop is the best! The Maresca is a very special hotel
with a very special staff.
"Very nice indeed!!!"

Spent a week (12/26/03 - 1/2/04) there for New Years. Hotel view from our
room (#112) was way cool, overlooking Marina Grande. The staff was wonderful
and very helpful providing recomendations for sights to see and schedules
of all transportation available. Modest breakfast in the morning. All
spoke very good english. So good in fact, that I've made reservations
for the summer while I was checking out!!

My sister and I stayed at Relais Maresca during July 2001. The hotel is
so charming & very clean. I loved how the rooms were decorated. The
staff was very friendly & the location very convenient. I would definitely
stay there again!

This is a great hotel located along the Marina Grande, literally a stone's
throw from where the ferries drop you off. It has very clean and comfortable
rooms and a great staff. It has a great breakfast served on its roof-top
terrace, which offers spectacular views of the marina and Bay of Naples.
You can get a room with a private balcony with the same view, or just
save the money and use this large and comfortably furnished terrace.
Its location is great if you like hanging around the beautiful boats,
and is very convenient for getting to the boat tours (just look out
your window in the morning to see if the tours are running). There
is also a (small) beach nearby. You also can avoid having to drag your
luggage far. The one drawback to the hotel is that in order to get
to Capri, Anacapri, or any of the other attractions that don't require
a boat, you first need to take the funicular or a bus, and a cost of
over a dollar a ride. The funicular gets very crowded at certain times
(although the bus less so, and the bus ride to Capri is quick). From
the Marina, buses go to both Capri and Anacapri. Or you could splurge
and take one of the convertible taxis.

The hotel is basically in the marina area where the ferry drops you off.
Easier than schlepping the suitcases up the mountain and through the
cobblestone streets. Sure it would be nicer to stay in the heart of
town, but the money you save by taking a five minute, incredibly scenic
tram/bus ride was totally worth it. Sea views are pretty with a cute
terrace. More upscale than expected, but I wasn't expecting much. Like
staying in disney, but outside the park. You lose a little bit of the
whole scene, but it's a good value. I liked it, my travel buddy loved
it.

From the minute the porter greeted us at the Marina Grande, we recieved
the best service from friendly and helpful staff. We paid extra for a
sea view room and boy was it worth it! Watching the many 1,000's of
day visitors to the island was amazing (especially as you knew that
when they left, around 6.00 o'clock, you had the island to yourself
again!)
Each morning it's best to pop your sunglasses on whilst still in bed and then
roll up the sound and light proof shutters to see what sort of day is ahead
of you, the sun is so bright you need to protect those sleepy eyes!
The hotel position is fantastic, watch the bustle of the day from your balcony
or stroll to the pebble beach with beach towels provided by the hotel and sunbath
with the locals. Alternatively catch a bus to all parts of the island (walking
is great for soaking up the views- and keeps you very fit!) or take the funicular
to the piazza in Capri town itself and do some celebrity spotting, eating or
shopping. Do try sgropino a lemony sorbet type cocktail or limonchello - good
for the digestion.
The island is a paradise on earth - the views, beaches, rocky coast etc are
therapy for the soul, walk down via Kruppe (and back) to Marina Picolla for
stunning scenery and sunbathing.
No, it's not cheap - but worth saving up for (even if only to buy one thing
from the many designer shops in Capri town).
Don't visit it for the day - you'll
be sick when you have to leave - stay for 2 weeks and really soak it up.
Excellent restaurants, you must have pizza and the sea food pasta, open air
cafes (always nibbles with your drinks!)
We came home healthier, happier and poorer but we'll be back.
Do stay at this hotel, clean, friendly, and a great base.
FROM VENERE
The hotel was beautfully located right next to the harbour. The restaurant was
spectaular - on the roof garden overlooking the sea and the staff were exceptionally
helpful, going out of their way to find out any information I requested.

The rooms were absolutely beautiful - really enjoyed. Wished we would have stayed
longer!

The staff was very helpful. Very convenient location – just a short
walk from the dock. We had a tremendous view of the harbor. Noise was never
an issue. Very nice breakfast. We had drinks before dinner on the roof – great
view. The room was much bigger than we expected. Everything was very bright
and clean, but you better like yellow. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a lovely hotel. Unlike many more expensive places it actually had
a sense of its own identity. The staff were extremely helpful and seemed
genuinely interested in their guests. The breakfast was excellent, which
you don't often find in Italian hotels.

The Relais Maresca was absolutely amazing! The map didn't quite reflect
just how close the hotel is to the harbor -- it's just up the steps next
to where you disembark from the ferry/hydrofoil. Some people may find that
a downside, we found it as a wonderful bonus. The views from the room were
incredible. The room itself was lovely. I would highly recommend this hotel
to anyone who has the opportunity to visit the beautiful isle of Capri.

We could not have chosen a better hotel at a better location. If available,
get a room on the upper floors overlooking the harbour. Fun to see what’s
going on.

This is the excellent place to stay. The location is the best in Capri
and the room was fabulous. Hotel staff were kind and efficient. I really
want to come back to this hotel in near future.

This hotel was the big splurge of our trip, and we enjoyed our stay there
very much. The staff was very helpful. Our room was beautiful. The best
part, though, was the rooftop terrace. That was the best place to eat breakfast,
with an amazing view.
Nome utente: Widmer Melanie
Out stay at Relais Maresca was wonderful. The hotel is classy, and you're
in just a couple of minutes after getting off the boat from Naples. This
was a big plus because we had a lot of luggage. I recommend getting a room
with see view -- they overlook Capri's Marina Grande, which is very picturesque
with all the small boats and bigger ferries in it, the crowd coming in and
out, the Capri-style taxies waiting. And the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius
on the horizon. One of the best things of Relais Maresca is the terasse
on the roof of the hotel. The wonderful buffet breakfast including traditional
coffee, cappuccino and freshly baked croissants, fruits, and many other
things to choose from is served there, and it's also a bar to relax in the
hot evenings. We're back soon, for sure! :)

The hotel was excellant. The rooms were very clean and the staff would
return in the evening to turn down the beds. We had a great sea view
from our room,as well as the roof top were we had breakfest every morning. The
entire staff was very kind and helpful during our stay. When I return
I will stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely go back. Although
not in Capti City, the location is very convenient, being very close to
the dock at the Marina Grande - literally a 2 minute walk. Both the funicular
and bus get you to Capri City in minutes. We loved the rooftop breakfast
area where they also serve lunch. There are chairs there for sunning, with
a beautiful view of the harbor and across to Sorrento. Very nice staff.
Nome utente: Warriner Sara
I found the Relais Maresca to be a wonderful hotel. The location is great.
. . near the docks where the boats arrive and only a few feet away from
taxis, cable cars, and buses to all locations on the island. The decor of
the room was really lovely, the concierge was very helpful and pleasant.
It was one of the nicest places we stayed while in Italy and we will definitely
come back. AAAAA

Relais Maresca was a highlight of our stay on Capri. The room was wonderful
and the view superb. The service was first rate. Highly recommended!

I have stayed on Capri a few times, usually on the other side facing the
faroglioni, which is very beautiful. However, this hotel is directly
on the Marina Grande....and near the residential area of Capri....which is
fantastic.Gives you a little more local flavor. The hotel is a great
little gem ...my garden view room was very lovely, sunny and tranquil. The
hotel staff is extremely friendly: the breakfast (good selection) on the outdoor
terrace and solarium is very relaxing with terrific views of the Bay
of Naples, Vesuvius, Sorrento...and tourists..... great! The waiters are delightful
and very helful. Ciao Carlo! I loved the location...so convenient to
everything, but far enough away from Capritown and the day-trippers, yet steps
away from the funiculare as soon as they head out! I will stay at the hotel
again and again. Loved it!

When I saw the pictures online I figured that they must not really be as
beautiful as they appear. But when we arrived it was absolutely amazing.
The pictures didn't even do the hotel or rooms justice. We felt so spoiled.
We didn't want to leave. The breakfast on the terrace every morning was
wonderful and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and always remembered
us. I would recommend the Relais Marseca to anyone and everyone that was
going to Capri. When our family saw our pictures from Capri and the hotel
they were jealous. I would definitely without a doubt stay with the Relais
Maresca again.
Nome utente: O'Malley Jaime
The staff was friendly, accomodating and very hospitable. We felt at such
ease in this hotel and loved the wonderful restaurant recommendations. We
will definitely pay a visit to the Relais Maresca in the very near future.
